Mr S.Amarsaikhan, Head of Capital Citizens’ Representative Meeting, conducted onsite visit in project unit of “Ulaanbaatar Urban Services and Ger Areas Development Investment Program” on 12th of June, 2018. The project will be implemented with total 3 phases for 9 years and ger areas near Bayankhoshuu and Selbe which located in the north of Ulaanbaatar city and cause main source of air pollution and soil pollution of Ulaanbaatar city will be developed as sub-center of the city in connection with Ulaanbaatar city development plan amendment until 2020, development tendency until 2030 and documentation within framework of the first phase.
Mr S.Amarsaikhan, Head of Capital Citizens’ Representative Meeting, stated that developing from mono-centered city to multi-centered city with the purpose to reduce population density, air and soil pollution of capital city is one of the most effective and objective works. Foundations of 6 sub-centers will be established within framework of the project and Selbe and Bayankhoshuu sub-centers will be established within scope of the project’s first phase and the sub-centers will be dedicated to population of the northern area of capital city and environmental friendly, economic, cultural and social service active zone with road, heating, pure water, power supply, sewerage, kindergarten and business incubator center. Therefore, he obliged to accelerate the project process and resolve urgent problems as soon as possible.
Project coordinator D.Avirmed stated that “Currently, land release process for the 2 sub-centers has 70% completion. Infrastructure works can be implemented without any obstacles as a result of completion of land release process. Capital Governor’s Office is in charge of 10 thousand green apartment project with condition to swap citizens’ land by apartment directly which is being financed by the Asian Development Bank. The project outcome will reach to 100 thousand people. Urgent issues of Ulaanbaatar city such as air pollution, soil pollution, greenhouse and infrastructure will be resolved and citizens will be provided with condition to live in healthy and safe environment. Social and economic services based on residents’ needs and urban services that must be provided in sub-centers have been planned beforehand.”
