Inauguration of sub project for renovating and upgrading pumping station equipments

Sub project to improve operation of the Water Supply and Sewerage Authority of Mongolia is being implemented within framework of “Urban Services and Ger areas development investment program” which is being implemented by concessionary loan of the Asian Development Bank and the European Investment Bank. As a result of the sub program to improve operation of the Water Supply and Sewerage Authority of Mongolia, operating procedures will be improved and utility costs will be reduced by water and energy saving such as setting up SCADA system in the Water Supply and Sewerage Authority of Mongolia and detecting water loss by renovating and upgrading required equipment.
Renovation of Central and Factory pumping station equipment has been fully completed within scope of the sub project funded by donation of the ADB. 1 lifting pump and 16 pcs pumps of well had been renovated and installed in the pumping station within framework of the sub project. In addition, 4 pumps for 2 lifts of Central pumping station and 6 kW frequency inverter and its building were handed over to the Water Supply and Sewerage Authority of Mongolia on 08 November, 2017.
Mr P.Bayarkhuu, Deputy Major of Capital city in charge of Infrastructure and Ger Area Development, Project Director, Mr Arnaud Heckman, Senior Urban Development Specialist of ADB, Mr D.Avirmed, Project Coordinator, Mrs D.Munkhjargal, Assistant Project Coordinator, Mr Ts.Turkhuu, Head of the Water Supply and Sewerage Authority of Mongolia and directors of “Comfort Impex” SC were attended in the inauguration and gave their speech regarding to the renovation work.
Upgrading equipment which is urgently required to meet water demand that has been increasing day by day due to population density of Ulaanbaatar city, increasing their capacity and providing reliable and stable operation has strategic significance.
There is a calculation to save electricity by 15-30% and pure water by 5-10% with assistance of installed pumps as a result of the equipment renovation and upgrading work.
